Job Responsibilities

Do you want to lead one of Gothenburg's most significant urban development projects? We are now looking for a driven and strategic project manager for the New Central Bath with associated sports halls – the modern facility that will replace Valhallabadet and become a central place for movement, health, and community in the city.

As the project manager for the New Central Bath with sports halls, you will play a key role in a unique and complex project with a significant societal impact. You will lead the project team and its sub-projects in an engaged, goal-oriented, and communicative manner, creating conditions for the project to develop sustainably and long-term. The project is currently in the planning phase and has an estimated construction start in 2027.

Your responsibilities include:

  • Ensuring that the project achieves set goals regarding time, quality, and budget. This includes working with timelines, risk analyses, control plans, and financial follow-ups.
  • Proactively coordinating with other project stakeholders, both internally and externally, to ensure that the project runs according to plan and budget.
  • Leading and inspiring the project organization for the Central Bath with sports halls.
  • Taking responsibility for budget, operations, and follow-ups.
  • Conducting presentations and creating clear decision-making materials.

You will represent the project in internal and, if necessary, external steering groups. You will report to the head of the property and urban development department and be responsible for preparing materials and presenting cases for the committee, steering group, and other forums. It is important that the project is conducted both in a structured manner and in a collaborative spirit, in close dialogue with the project manager, project team, and other functions in the organization.

Qualifications

We are looking for someone who has:

  • Relevant university or college education, for example, as a civil engineer or engineering degree, or other education that the employer deems equivalent.
  • Experience with a background from large and complex urban development, construction, or facility projects in the implementation phase or programs that have lasted for several years.
  • At least ten years of experience in the community building sector and is accustomed to working as a project manager or leader in advanced project environments.
  • Experience in budget responsibility and operational responsibility, preferably with personnel responsibility as well.
  • Good knowledge of contract law and LOU.
  • Experience with established project methodologies or project tools such as XLPM, ANTURA.

For this position, we place great importance on your personal competencies. To succeed as a project manager, we see that you are a communicative, attentive, and inspiring leader who creates engagement and direction. You are confident, analytical, and goal-oriented, with the ability to make well-founded decisions even in complex situations. You quickly build trusting relationships, collaborate unpretentiously, and enjoy driving development together with others. Your structure, judgment, and leadership enable you to navigate large project environments with many stakeholders and high coordination demands.
